sWiTcHfOoT!!!

Friday night, a bunch of us went to see a Switchfoot concert with Jars of Clay, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, and Third Day. It was a rockin concert, although totally not the same as at the NorVa, but it was still sweet. That in and of itself would have been a fun time...

BUT...

...what was even cooler was that Jonathan scored some backstage passes to meet Switchfoot!! You see, he was in Guitar Center earlier that day and recognized Drew, one of the guitarists from sf, just chillin and playing some guitar. He talked to him for a little bit and Jon mentioned a bunch of us from church were going to see the concert. He got Jonathan's name and told him to check the box office when we got there, and when we did, there were five green stickers of glory to get us back to the meet and greet after the show!! (so I all thought it was a party from 9 to 12...but um no thats the date...Sept 12th...)
Leave it to Buddy Dog. Stuff like that always happens to him. Anyways, so me, Jessica, Jonathan, Beau, and Steven used those bad boys and we got to meet the Switchfoot guys!! It was so fun! Here's some pics from the night...Jess took them all because she got to sit up close with my cousins. They turned out pretty sweet.

A Day of Firsts...

Yes, it's true...Teresa "Animal-Hater" Hewitt rode a horse for the first time today! It was pretty much awesome. I went down to North Carolina to visit Jane Terryberry with Heather and she has three horses. And these weren't no ponys, but some big ole things that could kill you if they wanted to. She was so sweet to let us ride them (bareback, too!) It was just around a little pen, but I did get it to trot!! The real adventure came down at the river. Yes, I rode a swimming horse and it was intense. This guy is a beast and was stubborn and wouldn't let Jane lead him into the water. It kept growling and snorting and she tried to reassure me that he "always" did it, but I was pretty skeptical sitting up there.
...
Anyways, as we got out a little deeper, Jane kinda stopped and the girls were laughing behind me. I turned around and yeah you guessed it...lets just say this horse's name is "Bomber" for a reason...I was terrified he was going to turn around and wade me back through the wreckage. I kicked his sides like a mad woman. Well, that did the trick and he went deeper and just took off. As soon as it was getting too deep to walk, Bomber started "swimming" or bucking and flailing as he jetted through the water. I screamed...a lot..and held onto that mane for dear life. I could barely keep from slipping or getting thrown off. It was great.
...
After we left, Mrs. Wood stopped at Bojangles for some dinner. It was my first time eating there, too. I got the "Buffalo Bites" which totally looked like a cup of gizzards. All in all, it was a great day. :)
